You people are awesome. We already have over 25 people signed up for our second Biggest Loser Mom Contest. This means the winner will probably be taking home over $150.
Not too shabby.
I just wanted to clear up a couple of things:
1) I think we will do our weigh-ins on Wednesdays. Devra and I were talking about it and smack in the middle of the week seems fair. Plus the Weigh-in Wednesday has a nice ring to it.
We don't really care when you weigh in on a Wednesday, we just want you to weigh yourself at the same time each Wednesday and preferably wear the same thing. If that sounds complicated just weigh in in underwear or naked. I personally will be wearing clothes since I will be posting pictures.
2) Anybody is welcome to guest post here. In fact, we encourage it. Tell us about your loser journey.
3) You don't have to be a mother to participate. Hell, you don't even have to be female. You just have to pony up your $10 and be honest.
4) E-mail your weight each Wednesday to losermoms@gmail.com. We will not share your weight with anyone. Only Devra and I have the password to this e-mail. We are not cruel, just unusual.
5) Invite your friends. We still have time and the more the merrier!
Bring it on!

Thanks for all the clarifications. Personally I found it motivating to hear how folks did at weigh in (can you say competative). But I'm excited to get started! ~Natalie
I'm in! So do you want us to send you our starting weight on Sunday, January 10, or on Wednesday, January 13, or on the day we sign up? Picky, I know.
The first weigh in will be Wednesday, January 13th.
You go girls!! Great idea for a contest. It helps to have a friend doing it with you when trying to lose weight. I am debating wheter or not to enter the contest. The reason I am thinking no, is that I have decided that I am done with the yo-yo dieting I have been doing for the past many many years. I have determined that I need to make permanent changes to my lifestyle that I can live with. I am not going to starve myself, nor am I going to start eating food that I would normally not eat (like the all meat adkins diet). If I was participating in a contest, I would feel the need to do what I needed to do to lose weight quickly. I have run into that trap many times before, only to gain it all back.
I picked up a diet book a couple of weeks ago, and so far everything is going great. No fad dieting, no losing 15 pounds in one week, just simple easy changes. It has been really easy to implement. Check it out...

If you are looking to lose a lot of weight quickly, the diet I am on probably won't be for you. It is more for the long haul.
All right. Fine. I know what I have to do; eat less/better and exercise more. Duh.
I'm in. Can't believe I'm doing it this way but nothing else seems to motivate me. Besides, who can resist "f*%k all y'all?" That appeals to my Sailor Mouth.
You mean I have until Wednesday to eat the remainder of my junk food? OK, I'm in on it.
(My word verification: catisho. Cat is ho? That's not nice to say about the cat at all.)
You know this means I have to go out and actually purchase a scale, don't you.
I'm with Christina. I'm so glad I have a few more hours to get that starting weight up nice and high so I can make the biggest improvement.
And my capchta: gambl
A sign from g*d?
We wanted a cushion before weigh in, this way we have time to organize the Google doc, so when you all tell us your weights on Wed, we will have a place to put them. Otherwise if we write it down on paper, we'll lose it, spill on it, or quite possibly eat it because we'll be fairly hungry at first.
Oh, bother. I'm in. Trouble, that us.
